We're here to help you get started!
But first, please tell us how much do you know about bitcoin mining?

What do you need to start bitcoin mining?

1. Get the best bitcoin mining equipment

If you want to start mining in the first place, you have to own a mining rig. Nowadays, Bitcoins are mined by special hardware designated just for mining Bitcoins or other currencies based on the same algorithm. It is called ASIC (Application-Specific Integrated Circuit chips) miner, uses less energy and mines Bitcoins much faster.

Please keep in mind that while mining with GPU, CPU, mobile phone might be possible, it will almost certainly be unprofitable. Therefore, choose a suitable mining equipment is crucial.

You have no idea how to choose an ASIC miner? Don’t know where to buy? No worries. We are ready to guide you, reach out to learn more by Miner Mall, get extensive reviews of all ASIC miners and purchase miners directly from us right now!

2. Get a Bitcoin wallet

The next important step is to set up a bitcoin wallet. That's where you will receive bitcoins you’ve mined in our pool and will be able to manipulate with them.

3. Join NovaBlock mining pool

Even with the best ASIC miner, it is almost impossible to gain bitcoin today. You will eventually need a mining pool that will be sending to your miners the jobs required by the blockchain. bitcoin mining pools are groups of bitcoin miners working together to solve a block and share in its rewards. Without a bitcoin mining pool, you might mine bitcoins for over a year and never earn any bitcoins. It's far more convenient to share the work and split the reward with a much larger group of bitcoin miners. Lucky for you, you found us!

STEP 1. Sign up for a NovaBlock mining pool account

Go to www.novblock.com to sign up and wait for the confirmation email. (Please allow up to 5 minutes to receive the email. If it is not received within 5 minutes, check your spam/junk folder.)

Log into your account.

Once your account is activated, a subaccount with the same name as your account’s username will be created automatically. You can create more subaccounts (Account - Subaccount - Create Subaccount) to manage multiple workers.

STEP 2. Configure your mining equipment and connect to the pool

First you need open a web browser and enter the worker’s IP address (when connecting to a mining pool, your miner will be connected as a “worker”). A dialog box will pop up which requires you to enter the login credentials. Take Antminer S9 as an example, both username and password are “root”. If the username and password are incorrect, please contact your miner’s customer service to request the correct ones.

Next go through the menus and find the “Miner Configuration” page, then enter the mining URL, worker ID and password.

The figure above shows the general configuration of a worker. The definitions of "URL", "Worker" and "Password" are as follows:

URL: Your "mining address" in NovaBlock.

Please set 3 different mining URLs as below. If one URL is out of connection, the other two will be enable automatically.

URL 1: stratum+tcp://btc.s.novablock.com:443

URL 2: stratum+tcp://btc.s.novablock.com:1883

URL 3: stratum+tcp://btc.s.novablock.com:25

For your convenience, you can easily find out the three URLs from the left column of your workspace.

Worker: the worker's ID.

It is a combination of your “subaccount” and your “worker name” (you can randomly choose any alphabets or numbers to set up your "worker name").
The format is "subaccount.worker name". Example: If your subaccount is “novablock”, then your miners could be set up as novablock.1, novablock.2, novablock.3, etc. The workers’ order will be sorted by the woker ID.

Password: Optional, just set at will.

After you are ready with the pool settings, press Save&Apply. This saves and applies the settings and also reboots the mining process.

STEP 3. Monitoring workers and check earnings

Got to your Dashboard to see if your new miners have been successfully connected to our mining pool. It’ll take about 5 minutes for your worker to appear on the stats page.
Your dashboard is the place where you can monitor and control everything. You'll be able to see your total hashrate, the states of your workers (miners), your rewards. You can also check your real time balance and the payout history.

STEP 4. Register your payout address

To collect the bitcoins you mined, you have to set up a bitcoin wallet payout address in the Account > Subaccount > Setting. The bitcoins you mined will first be deposited in your subaccount balance, if your subaccount balance reaches the minimum threshold, the bitcoins will be directly sent to your wallet via your pre-set payout address. You can start mining even without this address being registered, but it is highly recommended that you register it straight away.

Happy mining with NovaBlock!
